High Speed Wireless Internet

Serving your needs with frequency!

In 1998, China Creek Internet installed a wireless communication link from Princeton to Penticton and became the first provider in the area to offer wireless Internet access. We have since expanded our wireless network to include the townships of Apex, Bridesville, Cawston, Chopaka, Coalmont, Christina Lake, Grand Forks, Hedley, Keremeos, Midway, Olalla, Penticton, Rock Creek, Tulameen, and Twin Lakes.

Wireless Access has been around for a long time but the recent advances in technology and reduction in cost have made it possible for home users and businesses to benefit today.

Why use Wireless?

  • Direct 24-hr Internet Access is Always On, NO more busy signals.
  • NO more modem hassles.
  • Does not require a phone line.
  • Upload and Download speed is the same.

Who can benefit from wireless service?

Both businesses and consumers will benefit greatly from wireless service. For the consumer it means a high speed 24 hr connection. Now you can download all those games and MP3 files in minutes instead of hours.

What about people in the country?

People in the country may also benefit from wireless access. If you live in the country you know that fast connections are impossible to obtain. No matter what modem you have, speeds in the 19.2k - 28.8k range are sometime the best you can hope for. With wireless all that changes. Unlike other forms of high speed access the speed on a wireless connection does not diminish with distance. If your home or business is within the line of sight of the antenna you should get the same speed as a person in town.

Who can get wireless service?

Anyone with LOS (line of sight) to our antenna and who falls in the range of the signal. Wireless technology has the capabilities to travel many kilometers with the right equipment. This means it is available to people in rural areas.

What are the costs?

A wireless transceiver unit will need to be installed on your building to receive the Internet signal. Equipment costs vary based on the type of unit needed. Call us for current prices on wireless equipment for your area.

**Bandwidth refers to the capacity - uplink and downlink - of the connection from your computer into our network. The actual speed and capacity of traffic to another site will vary depending on the amount of traffic and congestion on the global Internet and other factors.

Download our Wireless Agreement.

If your home is in an area where trees will block your wireless Internet signal, we have specialized equipment that may allow you to connect, but the bandwidth will be somewhat lower - nominally 0.5 mbps.

Note regarding VOIP Service: Some of our subscribers have indicated an interest in using the network for VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), which uses the Internet to make telephone calls. VOIP is a useful service that can save money on long distance telephone calls, but it is not recommended as a complete replacement for regular telephone service because internet congestion, power outages, or system downtime could leave you without VOIP service or with poor quality telephone service. China Creek Internet can not guarantee 100% availability for VOIP service.
